What to do when you first get Hamster Home

After you arrive home, place the hamster immediately inside the prepared cage and allow it to settle. It’ll take the hamster a couple of days to get accustomed to all of the new smells and sounds of their new home and can find this time somewhat stressful. Therefore although you might be tempted to get your hamster out and spend playtime with it, attempt to resist for the first couple of days so that it may first of all get used to its new surroundings and feel safe. This helps to help keep its stress to a minimum. Stress, particularly in young hamsters, can result in Wet Tail.

It might take your hamster a couple of days before it feels comfortable with its new cage and surroundings. It’s not unusual for a new hamster to run around frantically, move its nesting area several times and then spend a lot of time sleeping after all the exertion. After a couple of days though the hamster will settle into more of a routine and will generally seem more settled. This is the time when you can start to introduce your hamster to handling.

I love hamsters and yeah I agree to leave your hamster in the cage for a few days or like 3 or 2days. Then spend time with it and maybe travlel together. I will once I get my hamster I make my own bedding and water bottles and even a hamstr wheel I make lots of stuff for everything and I’m only 9 years old.
